Nerlens Noel Suffers Concussion After Blow to the Head
Update: January 9, 2019
Oklahoma City Thunder center Nerlens Noel suffered a concussion after suffering a blow to the head from Andrew Wiggins' elbow that resulted in him losing consciousness.
Full Story:
During Tuesday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Noel collided with Wiggins while attempting to block a shot. He fell hard to the ground and immediately lost consciousness.
Noel was stretchered off the court and taken to a local hospital, where he was diagnosed with a concussion. He is currently listed as out indefinitely.
The Thunder released a statement saying that they are "monitoring Noel's condition closely" and that they will provide updates as they become available.
This is the second time that Noel has suffered a concussion in the NBA. He missed several games last season after sustaining a concussion in a collision with Paul George.
Noel is a key player for the Thunder, and his absence will be a major blow to the team's playoff hopes.
