Thomas Dickson takes second place in international roller race

Kelso athlete wins first international medal

Thomas Dickson, from Kelso, has won a silver medal in an international roller race.

The 22-year-old, who has been rollerblading for 10 years, competed in the 100km race at the World Roller Games in Barcelona on Saturday.

He finished in a time of 1:39:27, just over a minute behind gold medallist Bart Swings, of Belgium.

Dickson said: "I'm absolutely delighted to have won a silver medal at the World Roller Games.

"It's my first international medal and it's a great feeling to represent my country and win a medal."

Dickson's medal is the first for a Scottish athlete at the World Roller Games.

The World Roller Games is the biggest roller sports event in the world and is held every four years.

The games feature 12 different roller sports, including inline skating, skateboarding, and roller derby.

Dickson's success is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport.

He trains for several hours a day and has competed in numerous races both in the UK and abroad.

Dickson is hoping to continue his success at the World Roller Games and is aiming to win a gold medal in the future.
